Spring is a time to refresh your life, some like to do this by cleaning and decluttering while others prefer to start a new garden. However, we like to do so by giving our clothes a refresher! It's time to rotate our spring and summer wardrobes, by pulling out our crisp white button-downs, cute shorts, statement sandals, and pretty pastel dresses. Assessing what we already have and looking through blogs and magazines for new spring fashion trends to add to our wardrobe!
After a long winter season, we are ready to shed the dark, heavy layers and pull our hair up. We're excited to try all the key trends this season like the fun balletcore outfits, our beloved white button-down shirts reimagined, and sexy armor (you'll see what we mean!), we'll show you our favorite spring 2023 fashion trends and how to take them from runway to every day.
ARMOR
As always, with new trends, there are some that come as a total surprise, like metal belts and chest plates. Combining this trend with chainmail bags and chunky jewelry, you might agree that 2023 is all about strong, fierce, and bold women and we don't disagree. To wear this trend this spring, try out metallic tanks or accessories.
Casual - This outfit features casual ripped ankle jeans with a fitted black tank top. A triple strap eyelet belt, black sneakers, and a handbag with gold chain details nod to this season's armor trend. Chain link hoop earrings and a custom name layering necklace add extra shine.
Party - This next look features a leather midi pencil skirt and a sheer black long-sleeve cropped top with a silver metal breastplate which is a bold way to wear this trend. Fun black strappy heels featuring multiple sweeping chains, a chainmail evening bag, and black angular shades with drop chains accessorize this outfit. Lastly, we added an edgy curated ear with a pair of sword earrings, studs, and ear cuffs.
Office - The last look we put together for this trend presents an all-black women's pantsuit, the pants feature a zipper detail at the bottom, and a bold wide metal belt hugs the waist. Black patent leather peep-toe pumps and a black crossbody handbag with a chain strap add to the edgy vibe we're going for. We also paired a celestial embossed bangle and tarot card necklace for added allure.
BALLETCORE
This is a trend we are most excited about! Contrasting the strong edge of metal armor with the softness of ballet attire, trendsetters have fallen in love with the world of dancing. From fluffy tulle skirts to ballet flats and leg warmers, this is one trend that seems to be taking the fashion world by storm.
Casual - This first look highlights a cute pink cropped sweater with a tie-waist detail and light-wash jeans. Chunky pink platform mary jane heels are paired with a pink shell purse for a fairytale vibe. We added a sweet, delicate charm bracelet with a pearlescent monogram necklace and a split pearl and anchor chain choker necklace.
Party - This look is all about pearls featuring a lustrious short wrap dress with long sleeves paired with cream knit leg warmers and ballet flat inspired heels. A quilted purse with a chain strap and pearl headband accessorizes this evening outfit. We finished this look off with some pearl studs with CZ halos and a sweet butterfly ring.
Office - Our last outfit highlights a black tulle maxi skirt with a romantic white top that has ruffle sleeves and a bow tie neck. A pair of red and clear heels add a pop of color, rectangular shades, and a metallic pouch bag with a pearl handle add to our balletcore theme. Lastly, a crescent moon ring, CZ baguette ring, and large silver hoops top off this magical look.
GRUNGE
You know what time it is when you start seeing distressed hemlines on the runway. The same goes for faded old band tees and fishnets under shorts. The time for 90s grunge is here and trending for spring nonetheless, but with a modern twist. So if you still have your Dr. Martens from high school because you couldn't let go of the gothic part of you then you're in luck, renegade!
Casual - This first look features a hunter green long-sleeve mock neck top with houndstooth shorts overtop fishnet stockings and a cool leather biker jacket. Some chunky black platform boots and a black crossbody bag add an edgy flair. Jewelry is the name of the game with this trend presenting silver cross earrings with black stones, a lover's initial heart necklace, and some silver and black stacking rings.
Party - Imagine pulling up to the block party wearing this cool number, a forest green midi slip skirt, and a cropped band tee. A black eyelet belt, black point-toe ankle heels, and a black pointed bag with a tassel accessorize this look. A pair of edgy spike hoops and a fishbone chain choker adds a fierce allure.
Office - This last look features a pair of black straight-leg trousers with a buffalo check button-down shirt and a pair of black leather suspenders. We added a pair of black lace-up ankle boots with a low chunky heel, a doctoral handbag, and classic black sunglasses. Lastly, a silver watchband bracelet is stacked with a paperclip chain bracelet and topped off with a pair of silver CZ cross dangle earrings.
PREPPY
We noticed a lot of collegiate-inspired pieces appear for 2023 in full vigor, but with a fun-loving refresh. Think Clueless vibes with classic tweed mini dresses, schoolgirl plaid pleated skirts, and of course the standard white button-down. This turn to co-ed cool highlights mary-janes, backpack purses, and chunky headbands so you're perfectly prepped this spring.
Casual - This first look reimagines the character Sarah from the 90s hit film The Craft highlighting that schoolgirl proper vibe. A green and blue plaid skirt paired with a short sleeve button-down shirt, a pair of oxford style shoes with chunky black socks, topped off with a matching thick plaid headband. We added some more simplistic jewelry with the Snake Chain Twist Necklace, Dot Ring, and Sydney Ring to stack with each other.
Party - This fun look highlights sorority girl cool with this classy tweed dress paired with sling-back heels with a bow and a silver metallic handbag adds some interest. We also added a pair of black cat-eye sunglasses. Lastly, we kept the jewelry simple and minimal with the Paperclip Chain Bracelet, Simple Huggie Hoops, and Classic Stud Earrings. This look speaks Chanel vibes all the way!
Office - This last look is one of my faves featuring khaki skinny pants, a classic blue button-down shirt, and a tailored navy blazer. A pair of navy suede booties and a mustard yellow crossbody bag continue with our color story. Gold pearl signet and textured stacking rings along with a CZ tennis necklace layered with a gold snake chain twisted necklace add some beautiful sparkle while polishing off this look.
UTILITARIAN
This is my favorite fashion style no matter the seasonal trend! Utilitarian wear paves the way for the reappearance of the cargo pant, classic utility shirts, skirts with pockets, and jumpsuits. However, we aren't talking about the shapeless pieces from decades past, this spring 2023 we're bringing tailored silhouettes and modern flair to this pragmatic trend through unique pocket placements, quality fabrics, and captivating colors.
Casual - This first outfit features creamy-tone boyfriend pants with a slight cuff in the legs held up with a black belt, a fitted white tee, and a sage green utility button-down shirt with breast pockets that you can tie around your waist or roll up the sleeves. A trendy pair of white sneakers and a backpack purse allow you to go anywhere and do anything. Lastly, a simple pair of huggie hoops, stud earrings, and a silver chain bracelet adds a little sparkling form to this functional ensemble.
Party - This next look highlights the beloved cargo pant in a more elevated style paired with a leather crop top and finished off with a black fanny bag so you can party hands-free. We added a pair of black lace-up heels and oversized shades. And finally, a chunky gold watchband bracelet and smiley face ring stack with another gold ring with a green stone and a fun butterfly choker add bling to this look.
Office - This professional utilitarian outfit features a beautiful clay-colored midi A-line skirt with pockets, a sleeveless lacy top, and a practical, yet stylish, leather moto jacket. A pair of chunky lace-up heels, a leather crossbody bag, and oversized tortoise shell sunglasses accessorize this outfit. Lastly, a couple of dainty layering necklaces and woven gold hoops top off this look.
WHITE SHIRT
This spring we're going to be seeing the classic white shirt make a huge impact. But not just your everyday button-down, we're going to be seeing this garment remixed, from casual shirt dresses, elevated fabrics, and interesting cuts. The modified iterations of this classic top include ways to style it such as tieing it up, adding a sweater vest over it and even wearing the collar popped up for an edgy vibe.
Casual - This first look includes a short sleeve, cropped tie-up white shirt with a pair of ripped ankle jeans held up with a beautiful black leather belt. A fun pair of leopard print pumps, a simple black clutch bag, and aviator sunglasses accessorize this look. A silver watchband bracelet paired with a criss cross ring, an open CZ ring, and a laurel leaf ring that stack beautifully together.
Party - This next outfit features a white button-down shirt dress paired with an elevated fanny bag and iridescent heels to add interest. We paired a fun vortex gold ring, a tiger's eye pendant necklace, and finally, a pair of teardrop huggie earrings to add some sparkle to this fun look.
Office - This final outfit is another fave for us featuring a gorgeous leather pleated midi skirt with a simple white button-down top which we added a silk patterned scarf with. A pair of rattan heels, oversized tortoise shell sun shades, and a crossbody bag in a fun red tone add a pop of color. Lastly a gold chunky bracelet, with a matching ring and a second ring with a red stone to match the bag.
