Because Books Need Love Too: Printable Bookmarks

I love reading like the next introvert but it's not appealing when I pick up my book and flip to the page I marked last with a recent convenience store receipt. I read every single day so it would make sense to use a pretty bookmark over a piece of trash.

I know my tribe loves reading too (I peek at your Instagrams more often than you might think!) so it dawned on me last night, as I was doing my nightly ritual of reading before bed, that I should design some pretty bookmarks for my Goddess babes!

Let's honor these books that send us into dreamy adventures that we'd never experience otherwise!

Here's what you'll need:

  • Card stock paper (or printer paper to be laminated)
  • Scissors (or a razor blade + straight edge ruler or paper cutter)
  • Hole punch
  • Ribbon or string
  • Beads for decorating (optional)

    Step 2. Print

It's preferable to print these out on card stock paper so the bookmarks are nice and sturdy. Or, you can print on regular printer paper and then take them up to your local office supply store to be laminated. I printed mine on card stock but I may get it laminated as well.

*Note: I printed mine on a creamy color, you can print these on any colored paper but remember, for the colors to show, it's preferable to print on white or light-colored paper.

Step 3. Cut Along Dotted Line

Cut on the inside of the dotted line. I left enough space between the dotted line and the actual design in case you're like me and can't cut a straight line to save your life. I ended up getting a ruler with a straight edge and a razor blade and cut that way. If you have a heavy-duty paper cutter that would be ideal.

    Step 4. Punch A Hole

Take your hole punch and center it over the circle at the top of the bookmark. Punch out your hole.

    Step 5. Decorate!

Take your favorite ribbon, twine, or a string of beads to string through the hole. I ended up using some natural hemp twine with a rough amethyst bead and a purple fluorite bead at the end. It swings so nicely while in my book!

    Step 6. Read On!

Grab your current fav. and mark the page you're at! Or, if you're like me, grab your current THREE favs., that's why I created 4 bookmarks, for those who like to read more than one genre at a time!

I'm currently reading/journaling in the 52 Lists of Happiness: Weekly Journaling Inspiration for Positivity, Balance, and Joy (affiliate link) by the lovely Moorea Seal (who happens to also run a gorgeous shop in Seattle, WA!) which I'll be doing an unboxing post on soon!

I was so grateful to win this amazing book during Gathered Home's 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway on their Instagram page! You've gotta get it!

Moorea Seal also has a book called The 52 Lists Project: A Year of Weekly Journaling Inspiration (affiliate link) which I have on the way now! I can't wait to use it starting January 1st and look back at the end of the year at all the things that inspired me!
